In a conventional solar panel and array, every interconnection and component in the system (there are many thousands) are single points of failure. A spot of shade, an open or short, or physical damage to a conventional panel in one place dramatically drops or stops the energy output of the entire panel, or worse, from all the panels in the string.
None of that can happen with a RAIS module. The entire design is internally redundant. If any part of the module production is disrupted, the rest of the module and system operates as it should.
